Saison is undoubtedly a very special place to be on racedays, whether you enjoy races, watching beautiful horses in action or simply absorbing the excitement.
With Panoramic views of the racecourse, you can watch the racing from your table. Yours for the day, your reserved table provides a base for entertaining and our Chef provides a range of menus from which you can choose.
And our bar has a wide range of beers, wine, spirits, juice and a range of cold drinks.
If it’s your first time coming to the races, or you’re not particularly familiar with any aspect of the racing experience, you can find out more in advance. The Musselburgh racecourse gives you 10 Reasons to come Racing and include lots of tips as what to wear, how to place a bet and even explain some of the raceday jargon.
Getting Here
Saison Kitchen and Bar is located only 6 miles to the east of Edinburgh city centre. There are excellent public transport and communication links including a FREE transfer bus from the train station. Most people aim to arrive here about 1 hour before the first race, sometimes earlier and enjoy watching horses being prepared for getting the race.
What to wear
There is no particular dress code at Musselburgh Racecourse. Instead our customers are encouraged to wear what they feel comfortable in. All areas where you might walk are pathed so high heels are not a problem!
On Ladies Day and Edinburgh Cup Day racegoers will make a huge effort to dress up for the occasion.
Where to Watch the RacesAll the racing can be watched live from our restaurant and the balcony. You can also see all the action from the TV screen in the restaurant.
However, one of the best places is to stand at the balcony and you can see the horses thundering past, an absolutely breathtaking spectacle. During the jumping season you can get a sense of the energy and power of the horses as they fly past.
